The ceremony will begin at 5 pm sharp. You can start arriving at the house by 4:30.

Where?

We're renting out some space on a private estate in Jamul (pronounced ha'mul), just outside of San Diego. The place is called Montaña Cielo. See the photo above.

Both the ceremony and reception will take place outside by a pool, overlooking the city of San Diego.

Directions

In general, most GPS's seem to get lost right before you get to the house, so it's probably safer to ignore their directions and use these instead. We will also put up signs to help direct you.

  1. Regardless of the freeway you start on you want to get on the 94 East.
  2. When you do come through the 94 and 125 interchange, just be sure to stay on the 94 East.
  3. As you continue east on the 94, the freeway will end and you will eventually hit three intersections with stop lights.
  4. At the third intersection, turn right and keep following the 94 East. Now you're heading towards Jamul. You'll pass a 7-11 and Fillipi's on the left.
  5. In about 4.5 miles, turn left at Lyon's Valley Road (there's a little building called Real Estate Results at the turn).
  6. In about 1.6 miles, you'll come to a three way stop. Turn right. This will keep you ON Lyon's Valley Rd.
  7. Continue for about 1.8 miles. You'll pass two schools on the right and the road will start curving up the hill with switchbacks. When you get to a horse farm with a riding ring called "Lucky Kids Farm" on the left, look to the right and you will see Rocky Mountain Rd. Turn right.
  8. Once on Rocky Mountain Road, you'll come to a fork with directional arrows pointing out addresses. Keep left at the fork. Keep an eye out for our sign and the address of the venue "15393" pointing out the private driveway. Go down the hill to the house and there will be someone there to help you park on the driveway.

In September, the average tempreture is around a balmy 73°F with a high of 88°F and low of 62°F. The average precipitation is an almost non-existent 0.15 inches.

We expect it to be warm, dry, and windy.

What should I wear?

The wedding party will be in formal wear with suits and ties for the gents and beautiful dresses and high heels for the ladies. However, as a guest, feel free to wear dressy resort wear or nicer Hawaiian clothing. We're going to be outside most of the time, so wear something appropriate for the weather and bring something warmer for when it gets cool after the sun sets. And don't forget your sunglasses! There will be a game room with some couches and air conditioning in case you need to escape the elements. If you want, you can also bring a bathing suit to try a dip in the pool.

What's for dinner?

Dinner will begin at 6:30 pm. We'll be serving a tropical inspired BBQ, buffet style. You'll get your fill of tender baby-back ribs, slow-roasted pulled pork, and fresh off the grill teriyaki chicken. All served with two different kinds of salad: Hawaiian macaroni and ginger-sesame, plus some tropical baked beans and Hawaiian rolls.

BBQ

We will be cooking the food on-site in a chuckwagon over a red oak wood fire.

Will there be an open bar?

Yes. We'll be serving some locally brewed beers, tropical drinks, and whatever the bartender can mix up.

What's for dessert?

We'll have an ice cream truck come by and serve ice cream sandwiches and ice cream bars.

Can I bring my kids?

Sure. Just let us know you'll be bringing them by including their names in the RSVP, so we can properly add them to our final headcount for food. Keep in mind we may not have all the appropriate offspring containment devices like high chairs, so you may need to bring something portable yourself.

Can I bring a date?

We believe there's nothing more romantic than a wedding. So if you want to get lucky, go ahead and bring your boyfriend or girlfriend along. Just let us know his or her name when you RSVP and we'll add them to the guest list.
